FK HOUSE
Amman, Jordan
With a modest budget, The farmhouse is the result of a subtractive process. Outdoor terraces shaded by cantilevered louvers, which open up the space as one ascends towards the sky. Green pockets and stone frames recreate the original massing of the cube while shading the exterior space from the harsh Amman sun.
THE FOLIATE PAVILION
Royal botanic gardens, Jordan
LDDH explores the architectural transfer of biological geometries of habitat trees found in the Royal Botanic Garden. The unique geometry of these three habitat trees; Pine, Juniper, and Oak which are found in large percentages in the site.
“The Foliate” pavilion aims at integrating the performative capacity of biological structures into architectural design and at testing the resulting spatial and structural material-systems in full scale. LDDH translates the morphological structure into architectural components of form, massing and functionality.
YARMOUK MANAGMENT FACILITY
Irbid, Jordan
The mass resembles the natural formation of its context in terms of material and textures of the Yarmouk ecosystem.
The formation of the site is embodied in the lush landscape of oak trees spread over the exposed bed rock against the Golan non forest land form creating a great contrast of the natural materials.
The duality of the bed rock and the Golan non forest land form is reflected in the use of different materials against each other.
The dominant landscape penetrates the building in the shape of courtyard breaking the mass and in the form of roof garden to tame the building structure.
QATAR MANAGMENT FACILITY
Aqaba, Jordan
The building is shaped into a pure cube shape with perforated façade to capture views of the protected area, embracing the Acacia tree; an endangered tree.
Straw-mud mixture Plaster-Straw Bail to increase energy efficiency and achieve better insulation value.
FIFA MANAGMENT FACILITY
Ghor Fifa, Jordan
The mass resembles the natural formation of its context- the dead sea basin- and forms crack lines like those fault lines to bring in greenery and captures cool northern wind to cool its interior through linear green corridors.
The building becomes a vertical rock section and the pocket hanging gardens become tucked into the building extending out through the wind cracks.
